WORLD PREMIERES TELEMANN WITH TON KOOPMAN

AND THE AMSTERDAM BAROQUE ORCHESTRA

Donner-Ode, an extraordinary musical work was composed especially for the victims of the Great Lisbon Earthquake of 1755. The first concert took place in Hamburg in 1756. This Hamburg concert can in fact be seen as the first benefit-concert ever. The income of the concert went directly to the Portugese victims.

Next to Donner-Ode, the two Laments for deceased Hamburg mayors, haven't been performed since the respective funerals.
